Agile Transformation

Based on the Agile and Lean principles, our Agile Transformation work provides you the guidance and support you need to achieve the highest gains in line with your business goals and strategic priorities. To shorthen the product and service delivery periods, acceleration of adaptation to change, improvement of sustainability and quality; the roadmap we will create together will trigger the innovativeness and continuous development culture, facilitating the organizational change.

This transformation means a paradigm shift in many issues like:

  • .Revision of team-level work patterns; Scrum, Kanban etc. implementation of practices
  • Establishment of team based organization structure with high collaboration; putting into practice various improvement and specialty communities together with product and/or project teams
  • Enhancement of in-company transparency; use of team and organizational level lean metrics
  • Modernization of management and leadership understanding; formation of agile leaders
  • Evolution of demand management; implementation of agile portfolio management model
  • Promotion of engineering competencies; strengthening sustainability with quality

The objective in all these studies is to create an agile organization which is consistent with company strategies, capable of adapting quickly, learning, and constantly generating value.

Our Approach

Agile Transformation Governance Model™ which we have created with our accumulated experience of over 10 years, addresses the studies of change in Teams, Organizational Operating System and Portfolio in 5 main focus areas, carries them out under the leadership of Agile Studio™ and Agile Leaders™ teams:

Customer Focus

The customer has to be involved in the production process so that real agility can be achieved and fast production of the accurate value can be ensured. At this stage, the aim is to reduce the segregation of software teams and business unit, and to develop the abilities of working as a team altogether and acting together. .This is accomplished by working towards the understanding of business unit perspective and market understanding within IT, and the understanding of agile working model within business units.

Transformation Leadership

As mentioned by John Kotter in the 8 steps required to be taken for chage of leadership , it is necessary to establish a team that will embrace and lead the transformation , the transformation must be generalized within the entity under leadership of this team, the individuals who will take active part in the transformation process must be determined, new structures must be created, and the transformation must be widespread. .In this direction, the transparency of the transformation process and all relevant work is ensured to increase transformation awareness across the company.

Measurement & Transparency

Agility may be shortly defined as the capacity to change, to become better by changing, and to be able to generate higher values. Essentially, high transparency should be ensured to enable functioning of these mechanisms. In this sense, speed, priorities, problems, performance and quality are monitored and understood at both team and entity level. Studies are conducted to create a self-organizing, automatized transparency.

Kaizen Culture

With the transparency achieved, continuous improvement within the institution (KAIZEN) should be promoted for the improvement and the sustainability of progress. The objective of Agile transformation is to create a learning and developing organization. .To support this culture, self-organizing expertise communities are created in accordance with the needs and are made available.

Quality:

Agile transformation is a ‘cultural shift’ process. This transformation will have implications in both management and technical terms. In order to ensure agility in actual terms, it is important to further develop the engineering competencies in the entity. Hence, while carrying out studies on management culture and processes on one hand, efforts are made for adoption and generalization of the Agile engineering practices within the entity on the other hand.

To manage the transformation within the framework of the 5 main focus areas, leadership of the process is assumed by Agile Studio™ and Agile Leaders™ teams.

Agile Studio™:

Agile Studio™ is an in-company Agile coach team which is responsible for implementing the agile values and practices accurately and their sustainability within the company. It carries out the tasks such as establishment of new Agile teams within the company, provision of coaching support to the existing Agile teams, supporting KAIZEN by keeping the experimentalion culture alive at team levels , ensuring the widespread of the good practices and experiences across the company.

Agile Leaders™:

Agile Leaders is the transformation sponsor team which embraces the transformation in the organization at the highest level. .The Agile Transformation Management Model leads transformation efforts in five main focus areas, works to eliminate the obstacles to the transformation, and supports Agile Studio ™ and other Agile teams.

Road Map

Initialization

Determining the current situation, determining the transformation vision, establishing the Agile Studio ™ and Agile Leaders ™ teams that will lead the transformation, and making informative sessions at various levels are the appropriate ground preparation phases to support transformation.

Implementation

The stage of forming the relevant teams, determining the Agile practices to be implemented in the teams (Scrum, Kanban, etc.), implementing the relevant practices and processes, all in line with the vision and objectives set at the first step. During this stage, it is ensured that the entity evolves into the Agile Organization setup with formation of new Agile teams and making of the organizational changes.

Optimization

The stage where short- and medium-term steps are planned for sustainability of the system and ACM specialist consultants and coaches exit the process upon achievement of the targeted Agile organization structure.
